Business Development Specialist


The primary role of the Business Development Specialist is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, using social media tools and all other means of generating interest from potential clients. They must then plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company. They must develop a rapport with new clients, present Skura capabilities, qualify customers by gaining an in depth understanding potential client business challenges and how Skura can address them. The role will work within the Sales Team to develop a pipeline of new business that will result in demonstrations of Skura’s Sales Enablement Enterprise Platform.


  • Prospect for new clients and develop qualified leads for the Sales Team
  • Cold call within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization using LinkedIn, SalesLoft and any other tools provided
  • Research and build relationships with new potential clients
  • Set-up demos for Sales Team and Software Engineers
  • Plan approaches and pitches for each market segment
  • Create engaging email and call approaches to identify new potential customers
  • Work with team and provide needs assessment that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion
  • Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client.


  • University degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Marketing
  • 1-3 years of work experience in Software Sales an asset
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and CRM
  • Ability to work independently and make high number cold calls
